MP Rached Khiari responded to the controversy that aroused his speech during the plenary session devoted to the examination of the motion calling for apologies to France for its crimes during the years of colonization in Tunisia, during which it attacked President Habib Bourguiba. Speaking to Jawahara Fm, he stated he was not wrong and that that he has no regrets. “I was not mistaken and I don’t have to apologize …” he said.
According to him, he simply narrated the historical facts and quoted arguments demonstrating that the colonizers never paid tribute to their resistance fighters, “which was not the case for Habib Bourguiba”,
