Ennahdha member Rafik Abdessalem expressed that Tunisia is not “Mahrous’s farm”
In a Facebook post, Abdessalem stressed that the removal of Interior Minister Taoufik Charfeddine is not a crime that need be justified. but an action falling within the range of the prime minister’s prerogatives.
He furthermore emphasised that political life in Tunisia is ruled by a Constitution and a set of legislative texts, accordingly the President of the Republic does not need to shout from the rooftops “I am the president and the supreme chief of the armed forces ”.
Abdessalem also remarked that despite all the blame that can be levelled with him, the Constitution strikes a real balance between powers and defends the country against despotism.
