Tunisia-Rafik Adessalem denounces a return to a shadow government in Carthage

Ennahdha member Rafik Abessalem lamented the elimination of some parties from the meeting that gathered president Kais Saied with some MPs, maintaining that this indicates a flawed political vision itself at the heart of the instability and crises that exploded after the 2019 elections.

It should be remembered that the head of state invited four deputies from the Democratic Current, four from the Echaâb movement and two from the Ennahdha movement. Qalb Tounes, Al Karama and the Free Destourien Party (PDL) were not involved.

This is only to ignore the election results and force the minority at the expense of the majority,” he wrote on Facebook attacking the tenant of Carthage as being the single cause of political instability in Tunisia. He further pointed out that by these actions the President of the Republic left the reins of command to his team denouncing a return to a shadow government in Carthage as in the Ben Ali era. ”

Mr. President, one of the fundamentals of democracy is to honour election results and establishing a distinctive line between majority and minority,” he added.
