According to the annual statistics bulletin (INS), the number of marriage contracts registered a remarkable decline in the last five years2016/2020.
This is a fall from 198 thousand 125 contracts in 2016 to 65 thousand 630 contracts in 2020, a drop of 33pc.
Likewise according to INS the year 2020 documented a drop in the marriage rate estimated at 21PC to 65mille 630 contracts against 83 thousand 105 contracts in 2019.
This drop in the number of marriage contracts was observed by a decrease in the number of births during the period from 2016 to 2020, a reduction rate estimated at 20.6pc.
