The spokesperson for the Tunisian Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ANPME), Abderrazek Houas, stated this Saturday, March 9 that the abolition of fixed-term contracts (CDD) in the private sector will not be possible. He added, on a private radio station, that many firms in the private sector fall back on this type of contract for one-off or occasional recruitment, during peaks of activity for example…
Similarly, he said that this permits business leaders to gauge the level of skills of newcomers before offering them full worker status, through permanent contracts (CDI).
Remember that the subject of fixed-term contracts was raised by the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, on February 22, in the attendance of the Minister of Social Affairs, Malek Ezzahi and the Minister of Employment and Professional Training, Lotfi Dhiab. The Head of State insisted that the public authorities put an ending to this precariousness which tends to become the norm.
