Tunisia-Resumption of commercial activity at Dhehiba border post

After two days of unexpected interruption, the Dhehiba-Wazen border crossing, a vital commercial junction point between Tunisia and Libya, resumed activity this Saturday morning. The provisional closure, decided unilaterally by the Libyan authorities without official explanation, observed a notable stop in the usual flow of trade.

This stop had raised questions, particularly since the border post generally experiences intense activity. In the days preceding the closure, the number of travellers passing via the post daily was between 1,300 and 1,400 people, while automobile traffic fluctuated between 800 and 850 vehicles per day.

The reopening of Dhehiba-Wazen is thus welcome news for traders and travellers from both countries, restoring a vital economic and social link in the region.
