Tunisia-Saïed : the cleansing of the country of speculators has begun

The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, declared the launch of operations “to clean up the country of speculators and monopolists”, Thursday, March 10, 2022, during a meeting with prime minister Najla Bouden. This meeting comes at the conclusion of the Council of Ministers which took place at Kasbah and which was supervised, for the very first time, by Najla Bouden.

The President of the Republic said that a draft decree had been prepared to this effect and would be reviewed at the next Council of Ministers, in addition to the criminal reconciliation project. “We are not scared of difficulties (…) We stick to our pledges and we will continue to cleanse (the country) with a solid will (…) Since midnight, units of the National Guard and economic and commercial inspection have been deployed. It will not be a simple campaign (…) Whoever believes he is above the law, wake up, ”he said.

The Head of State called, in this same context, the Public Ministry to apply the law without any consideration emphasising that all are equal before the law.
