Democratic current member Samia Abbou confirmed that she still backs the July 25 process, however, she opposes the “coup” led by the head of the state Kais Saied.
Abbou said in an interview with private radio that “Saied missed the chance after July 25 (…) He did not take advantage of the exceptional measures under Article 80 of the Constitution, to reform the situation, at a time when he enjoyed broad support (…). “The ISIE will operate to distort the will of the voter and to buy the votes before the referendum… The Democratic Current will boycott this referendum” she added.
