Tunisia-Samia Abbou :Some parties use populism to denigrate Kais Saied

Democratic Current MP Samia Abbou considered that certain parties use populism to disparage Kais Saied.
Speaking at the plenary session at the House of People’s Representatives (HPR) on the results of the first 100 days of government action and the post-COVID-19 period programme, she stated that it is a shame to be harsh against the President of the Republic after having used his name for political purposes.

She also defended Saied’s remarks and said he was right in considering France’s presence in Tunisia as a protectorate and not colonization. Also, it denounced the MPs, in particular,  men of law, since they are, in principle, able to make the difference between the two.

She also stressed that France’s entry into Tunisia was governed by a contract signed by the Bey Regency, unlike what happened in Algeria.
