In a notable operation showing their efficiency and dedication, Tunisian security forces arrested a dangerous terrorist, equipped with weapons of war and an explosive belt, after a carefully staged ambush in the Kasserine mountains.
The intervention, the result of close cooperation between the Counter-Terrorism Unit, the Specialized Unit of the National Guard and the Special Forces Battalion of the National Army, under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Judicial Authority of the Fight against Terrorism, was welcomed by the Ministry of the Interior in a press release published Monday evening.
The terrorist, implicated in hostile operations since 2014, including the assassination of a shepherd and various terror actions against citizens, was arrested while riding a motorcycle towards terrorist hideouts.
Following this arrest, an inquiry was initiated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which also issued an arrest warrant against the suspect.
