Speaking to the TAP agency, member of the negotiation commission on the file of doctors currently in a sit-in at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Slimane Selmi affirmed that the Presidency of the Republic is committed to follow up the file of unemployed doctors and to coordinate with the administration side and the General Secretariat of the Tunisian General Labour Union on the negotiation process.

He added that the representatives of the protestors offered at a meeting yesterday with the advisor to the presidency of the Republic, Moez Wertani, the argumentative points in their discussions with the supervisory authority and the “realistic and applicable” resolutions they had suggested.

He said that the Presidency of the Republic has accepted the legitimacy of the protest movement of unemployed doctors, and pledged to work towards resolving this issue.

In this context, he called for the recruitment of doctors of all specialities instead of secondary school teachers.
