A group of university students and teachers have made 15 apps. available to the Ministry of Health, pending the funds needed for their activation, president of the University of Tunis El-Manar Fethi Slaouti said Friday.
In a statement to TAP, Slaouti explained that funds will soon be mobilised to activate these computer applications, selected by a specialised committee composed of representatives of the University, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
He said that the committee had selected 15 application projects out of a total of 58 projects submitted in response to a call for tenders by the University.
The initiative to make available innovative computer applications in health comes in support of the Ministry of Health as part of the State’s efforts to address the epidemiological situation in Tunisia, Slaouti added.
Besides, the president of the university revealed that a large number of university teachers have donated several working days (between 1 and 30 days per teacher), which will be deducted from their salaries for the benefit of the 1818 Fund dedicated to the fight against the Coronavirus.
