Tunisia-Tahya Tounes is not regarded with deliberations on the formation of the next government

Tayha Tounes movement will not take part in the consultations on the future government, said a member of the political committee and MP from the constituency of Tunis II Mustapha Ben Ahmed in a statement to the TAP agency.

“A delegation of Tahya Tounes told Ennahdha movement representatives, including its President Rached Ghannouchi that the party will not participate in the next cabinet formation,” Ben Ahmed told TAP.

At the conclusion of a meeting held by the two parties, Ben Ahmed told stress was laid on the country’s general situation as well as the next government formation.

“As a winner in the legislative elections, Ennahdha movement is committed to its constitutional right to appoint a Prime Minister,” he underscored.

According to him, Ennahdha has not submitted any official programme on the next government.

Ben Ahmed also said that Tahya Tounes is not committed to any position that is not stated in the movement’s official statements, adding that the party’s political committee will convene, Wednesday, to put forward its views on the country’s general situation and the upcoming government formation after freezing the membership of more than 30 members.

The meeting was attended by Tahya Tounes party’s Secretary-General Slim Azzabi, Hichem Ben Ahmed as well as Ennahdha movement party leader Rached Ghannouchi accompanied by his political bureau official Noureddine Arbaoui.
