The town of Bouhajla, in the governorate of Kairouan, is encountering, this evening, Tuesday, April 9, 2024, a state of tension as several residents assembled in front of the police station, after a young man self-immolated by fire, due to a conflict with a security guard, according to preliminary information.
The victim’s state of health was described as severe, and he was moved to the local Bouhajla hospital, then to the Aghlabid surgical specialities unit under the Ibn al-Jazzar University Hospital in Kairouan, according to Faouzi Samara,the hospital supervisor.
