Tunisia-This is why Kais Saied does not desire to disclose names of ministers suspected of corruption

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Public law professor Mouna Kraiem stated that president of the republic  Kais Saied’s rejection to unveil to the public the names of the four ministers who are the subject of suspected corruption and conflict of interest is justified by the jeopardy that he incites if the latter prove to be innocent.

Indeed, in this case, they could accuse him of defamation under the meaning of article 245 of the Penal Code which specifies that there is defamation in any allegation or public imputation of a fact which hurts the honour or the consideration of a person or a body corporate.

Meanwhile, Tunisie Numérique has learned from reliable sources that the head of the state said during the meeting held at the Carthage Palace on Friday that prime minister Hichem Mechichi was always conscious of the identity of the 4 ministers suspected of corruption.
