Tunisia commemorates the fourth anniversary of the Ben Guerdane epic that took place on March 7, 2016, which opposed the security forces and citizens to Daech terrorists. 20 security and military forces and civilians were martyred, and 50 terrorists killed.
The battle first erupted when more than 80 terrorists launched simultaneous attacks on army and police posts to establish an ISIS “emirate” from where militants could carry out terrorist operations in Tunisia.
The ISIS group had reached Libya with the help of local militants. The attack did not succeed thanks to the quick response of Tunisia’s security forces and the military, backed by the local population.
