Tunisia is formally off the FATF (Financial Action Task Force) blacklist, announced Prime minister Youssef Chahed in his tweeter
The FATF decided officially it’s plenary meeting to remove Tunisia from its blacklist as they estimated that the Tunisian government has honoured its engagements in fighting money laundering and terrorism financing, said Chahed in his tweet.
Previously,Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia Marouane Abbasi announced that the final date of Tunisia ’s removal from the blacklist of non-cooperative countries in the global fight against money laundering and terrorism financing will be in October.
The FATF stated that Tunisia had finished the implementation of its strategy and decided to schedule a field visit to verify its implementation. It confirmed that Tunisia has complied with 29 of the recommendations outlined by the FATF for the Middle East and North Africa.
