Tunisia-Tunisia to host Tokyo International Conference on African Development

During the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and Government, held in the capital Addis Ababa on February 9 and 10, Tunisia obtained the honour to host the Tokyo International Conference on African Development” TICAD 2022″.

The Tokyo International Conference of African Development (TICAD)  was launched in 1993 by the Government of Japan, to promote Africa’s development, peace and security, through the strengthening of relations in multilateral cooperation and partnership, particularly with the country.

This summit, to be hosted by Tunisia in 2022, according to a Foreign Ministry press release, will be “the largest international meeting organised by Tunisia since independence, given the scale of participation in this important event, in which some 50 African heads of State and government are expected to take part, in addition to the Japanese Prime Minister, members of his government, a significant number of heads of international organisations, more than 11,000 participants from Japanese and African public and private institutions, experts, academics and representatives of international financial institutions.”

Japan prime minister and members of his government will also be in attendance.
