Tunisia welcomed on Friday cease-fire announcements made by Presidency Council of the Government of National Accord and House of Representatives in Libya.
In a statement issued by the foreign ministry, Tunisia considers the announcement as a positive step that will push to a Libyan-Libyan solution that stops the bloodshed of the Libyan people and preserves their capabilities and contributes to restoring confidence among the people in a way that builds a comprehensive and lasting political settlement that restores harmony and stability to all brotherly Libya.
Tunisia reaffirmed its firm position in continuing to stand by the brotherly Libyan people and support them in everything that would achieve security and prosperity and preserve Libya’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in a way that responds to its legitimate aspirations to build a strong, stable and secure state.
