The services of the Tunisian consulate in Lyon responded to a distress call sent yesterday by a Tunisian citizen living abroad through a private radio, in which she accused the French authorities of having kidnapped her children, without any intervention from the Tunisian authorities. Sources from the consulate confirmed that they are following up on this matter and taking the required measures.
These sources clarified that they had requested the family to register the children in the Tunisian civil registry so that they could be legally removed from French territory, in anticipation of the pronouncement of a decision to remove the children, by the French court in case of violation of the requirements of the court decision between the mother and father.
She added that the withdrawal decision was made when the children’s parents travelled to Spain and abandoned the idea of returning to Tunisia in an organized manner, which facilitated the withdrawal process.
The same sources confirmed that the consulate seeks to provide information and support during meetings, including a welcome and listening, and is committed to following up on the file.
