Tunisia-U.S concerned that transitional measures are continuing without a clear end

Asked during a white house press briefing on president Saied latest measures and whether the State Department ever make a legal determination as to whether or not a coup occurred in July, spokesman for the United States Department of State  Price Ned said” We share the Tunisian people’s goal of a democratic government that is responsive to the country’s needs as it battles economic and health crises,”adding ” We are concerned that transitional measures are continuing without a clear end. President Saied should appoint a prime minister to form a government able to address those urgent needs. We echo calls from the Tunisian public for the president to articulate a plan with a clear timeline for an inclusive reform process that includes civil society and diverse political voices”.
“When it comes to the actions that led to this point, more important than debating what to label these events is the critical work of supporting Tunisia on its democratic path, and that’s what we’re focused on,” the same source concluded.
