Faced with the enormity of the disaster, the surge of solidarity in Lebanon comes from everywhere. In Tunisia, President Kais Said ordered two planes loaded with medical aid and food to be sent to the stricken country.
It is in this context of solidarity that the General Tunisian Labor Union (UGTT) has decided to participate in its turn. At the end of a meeting held on Thursday, August 6, 2020, the executive board of the central labour union announced that it would send aid in the form of medical equipment, food and blankets to Lebanon.
The delivery of this aid will be carried out in coordination with the Lebanese Labor Union, it was also announced. The UGTT, therefore, urges all Tunisians to contribute to this outpouring of solidarity for the benefit of this country facing an unprecedented disaster.
