Tunisia: Urgent complaint to cancel the closure of mosques

Despite the health situation, invites to reopen mosques are growing. A complaint has been filed to this effect.

The union council of imams and mosque cadres declared an urgent complaint to reverse the resolution to shut down the mosques.

Calling the decision unfair, it emphasised that Council members hold the right to peacefully communicate their position through sit-ins, protests and rallies across the country.

In a statement, the council reveals that several meetings have taken place with the Minister of Health and the entire scientific committee for the fight against the Coronavirus.

“The position of sharia in stopping disruption of prayer rituals was presented. This position is based on declarations by members of the Scientific Committee that it has not been definitively confirmed that one of the mosques was a source of infection or that one of the workshipers contracted the virus inside a mosque ”.
