Tunisia-UTAP persists: No shortage of milk on the markets!

Member of the central council of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries Anis Kharbèche refuted the existence of a milk shortage. Regardless, Kharbèche highlighted, on the other hand, that a drop in production is anticipated next January.

Speaking on the airwaves of a radio station, he added “We are confronting a crisis of monopoly and irregular distribution (…) There will be no shortage in the forthcoming months, it’s just a rumour. “I call on citizens to avoid the buying frenzy,” he said.

Kharbèche likewise specified that the current stock is about 20 million litres while daily production ranges between 1.5 and 1.6 million. He added that daily consumption rose to 1.8 million litres in September 2023.
