The grain harvest should reach about 2.5 million quintals in the 2022/2023 season, compared to 7.4 million quintals in the previous year, said Member of the Executive Board of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (French: UTAP), in charge of field crops Mohamed Rjaibia.
He explained that rising temperatures are behind the decline in the grain harvest, adding that the production sites of Tunis, Béja, Jendouba and the irrigated area of Kairouan were impacted due to low rainfall.
