Tunisia-Vote intentions for legislative elections-3rd Wave:1/3 of Tunisians do not know who to vote for

Tunis Survey, a leading expert in online surveys and digital studies, has just disclosed the outcomes of its poll on the voting intentions of Tunisians.

This poll is based on a self-administered online survey that was conducted from March  23, 2021, to April 7th, 2021. Its aim is to distinguish the voting intentions of Tunisians through the principal question: If the Tunisian legislative elections were held tomorrow, which political party would you vote for?

This question was linked with the declared choices of respondents to the 2019 legislative elections.

It should be noted that the second wave not only confirmed the reluctance of the electorate but also showed the friability of the electoral bases with the strong intentions of electorates to change the parties they voted in favour previously.

For this second wave, the current sample number after the screening is 1436 respondents.

The principal results of 3rd wave :

Voting intentions:

  • 33,7% of respondents do not yet know which party to vote for.
  • 31,3% will vote for the PDL if the legislative elections take place tomorrow
  • 10% will vote for Ennahdha
  • 6% intend to vote for the Al Karama Coalition

Changing voting intention:

  • 97,5% of those who voted Qalb Tounes in 2019 will not vote for it again.
  • 90,5% do not plan to renew their choice for Tahya Tounes.
  • 80,6% will not vote again for the Democratic Current.
  • 48% of Al Karama colation voters in 2019 will no longer vote for this party.

Changing intention vote, yes but for which party?

For those who previously voted for Qalb Tounes, 75,3% plan to vote for the PDL.

64,2% who voted for Tahya Tounes intend to vote for the PDL.

42,5%  who voted for the Democratic Current do not know who to vote for.
38,5% of voters leaving Ennahda party said they planned to shift to Al Karama Coalition.
The electors of the parties in power are not definitively acquired. Admittedly, in the 3rd and 2nd wave, the fluctuation of the voters of the parties in power is still as critical. Worse, for some parties, the trend is increasing. The biggest loss for voters was once again that of Qalb Tounes, the third parliamentary bloc in parliament with 29 MPs.
