Several civil society activists in Nabeul have slammed, in consistent remarks , what they describe as “the murder of stray dogs by poisoning them”.
These dogs “had taken shelter in the municipal warehouse of the commune of Nabeul, where volunteers feed them”.
But, this morning, six dogs were discovered, dead of poisoning, during this weekend.
An official source at the municipality of Nabeul revealed that the municipality was not implicated in this crime, whether by poisoning or otherwise, specifying that the dogs are in the municipal warehouse and are fed by volunteers.
For her part, civil society activist Samia Al-Baili condemned the killing, calling it “terrible”, confirming that she continues to care for homeless dogs and calling for an end to massacres and sniping innocent creatures, she said.
It should be remarked that the municipality of Nabeul has prepared a dog vaccination and sterilization center and has completed all the required steps to open it and begin work. There would, nevertheless , be administrative constraints which prevent the start of the activity of this experimental center which is intended to be distributed to other municipalities.
