In an interview with AFP, the representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Yves Souteyrand addressed the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Tunisia. Remarking that Tunisia has the highest death rate in the entire African continent and Arab world, he warned against registering more than 100 deaths daily.
Defining the incidence rate as extremely worrying, Yves Souteyrand added that all indicators are red. “There was not enough public concern about the pandemic,” he said while pointing to the rapid spread of the Delta variant in the country. “Tunisia should be helped, especially with vaccines” he announced.
