Tunisia-Worrying: Rise in imports of mining products, phosphates and derivatives of 81% at the end of July

During the seven months of the year 2021, exports registered a rise of 23% against a drop of 19.5% during the seven months of the year 2020, announced the National Institute of Statistics in its Foreign Trade bulletin at current prices at the end of July 2021.

 

 

They attained the level of 2.6431.1 million dinars (MD) against 2.1496.3 MD during the same period of the year 2020. Moreover, imports reported, according to the INS, an increase of 21% against a reduction of 23.3% during the seven months of the year 2020.

 

In value, imports hit 3.5156.4 MD against 2.9063 MD, 4 MD during the same period of the year 2020. The trade deficit, therefore, worsened from 7,567.1 MD to 8,725.3 MD during the period July 2020-July 2021.

 

This worsening is explained, according to statistical data, mainly by the jump in imports of agricultural and food products by 12.9% to 4446.8 MD and by the dizzying increase in imports of mining products, phosphates and derivatives of 81%. at 744.9 MD.
