Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, Secretary-General of the United Democratic Patriots Party, Ziad Akhdar, confirmed in a statement to Tunisia Digital that the February 6 pleading session related to martyr Chokri Belaid’s case will be of great symbolism, as it coincides with the 11th anniversary of the assassination of the martyr.
He noted that this session comes within the framework of a long series of postponements in the trial of the killers of the martyr Belaid, revealing that all parties are waiting for the judiciary to positively address the demands of the Defense Authority, which have not been met for a while.
He likewise confirmed that it is anticipated that the decision on this long-awaited file will be accelerated, 11 years after the assassination of Belaid and that everyone implicated in this operation or in the assassination of the martyr Mohamed Brahmi, or even in other assassinations, will be punished.
