Tunisie- [VIDEOS + PHOTOS]: “Focus Japan” discover the culture of the “land of the rising sun”

The Embassy of Japan in Tunisia, organized, in cooperation with the City of Culture, a 3-day program from November 26 to 28, 2021 called”Focus Japan”., This event is “the prelude to TICAD 8” which will take place soon in Tunisia. A cultural journey: “Focus Japan” is an incentive to discover Japanese cuisine, traditions and culture, through a vibrant and varied program. “Focus Japan” is more like a foretaste of the next summit of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development – TICAD, which the Japanese government has been leading since 1993, in partnership with the United Nations, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). , the World Bank and the African Union Commission (AUC) and which will take place in Tunisia in the year 2022 and on the sidelines of which a rich cultural program will be set up.

A Zen atmosphere and an audience  at the rendezvous:
Tunisians of all age groups attended the numerous activities of the program while respecting individual protection rules and health protocol. Young people were fascinated by Kendo.
It should be remarked that there are currently 2 Kendo clubs in Tunisia, the first in Carthage and the second in La Marsa, gaining popularity every day among young people and adults. “Kendo develops character by applying the principles of the bamboo sword. This martial art nurtures the body through the mind and the mind through the body, ”a Kendo master said during the performance.

“Focus Japan is a cultural event that offers all aspects of Japanese culture. We are extremely grateful to the Opera Theater at the culture city their collaboration as well as their contribution to the development of a rich program, including this Kendo show, which is practised by lovers of Japanese martial arts ”, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan in Tunisia, His Excellency Mr. Shimizu Shinsuke to the Tunisie Numerique.
 “I believe that the Tunisians enjoyed it very much and it enables to arouse interest around Japan among the Tunisians and this will lead to the success of the TICAD which we will organize in the second half of next year (2022) in Tunis, ”said Mr Shimizu.
