‘Unprecedented’ weather expected in US – NWS

The United States National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple advisories for the central US and a tornado watch for about 4 million people in portions of Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota and South Dakota.

American meteorologists are keeping an eye on the storm moving across the region for the potential of causing damaging winds in a never before seen mid-December weather forecast, according to the NWS.

The storm has already set all-time high temperatures for this time of the year causing power outages across the area. The Storm Prediction Center noted that “a few tornadoes” are likely with “a couple of intense tornadoes possible.”
