United States Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin officially announced in a statement on Monday that Washington and its allies will be forming a new force to shield ships passing through the Red Sea.
“This is an international challenge that demands collective action. Therefore today I am announcing the establishment of Operation Prosperity Guardian, an important new multinational security initiative … Operation Prosperity Guardian is bringing together multiple countries including the United Kingdom, Bahrain, Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Seychelles and Spain,” he shared.
