United States House Speaker Mike Johnson issued a stern warning during his visit to Columbia University in New York, stating that the US National Guard could be called upon to quell student antiwar protests.
Johnson labeled the demonstrators as “lawless radicals and agitators” and demanded the resignation of Columbia’s President Minouche Shafik.
Speaking amidst heckling and chants from students, Johnson emphasized the need for swift containment of what he described as threats and intimidation on campus.
