US, Japan, S. Korea vow to complete North’s denuclearization

United States President Joe Biden, Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and South Korea’s President Yoon Suk-yeol said in a joint declaration dubbed Camp David Principles that they “stand united” in their commitment to achieve the full denuclearization of North Korea.

“We remain committed to dialogue with the DPRK [Democratic People’s Republic of Korea] with no preconditions. We seek to address human rights and humanitarian issues, including the immediate resolution of the issues of abductions, detainees, and unrepatriated prisoners of war,” the three leaders stated. “We support a unified Korean Peninsula that is free and at peace,” they added in the document published after their trilateral meeting at Camp Daivd
