US: No country can impose a solution on the Libyan people

The regional spokesman for the US State Department, Samuel Warburg, has said that the US, Russia, Turkey or any other country cannot impose any solution on the Libyan people, stressing that it supports Libya’s sovereignty and any solution in Libya must be intra-Libyan.

Warburg confirmed that the new UN envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, is in contact with all parties and held some meetings in New York on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings and conducted a dialogue with all parties.

He also clarified that Libya is facing challenges without the presence of any consensus, or joint government and vision, saying that this will lead to a vacuum that the militias will unfortunately exploit, 

“We are in contact with the Egyptian government because we know that the chaos in Libya will affect Egypt”, Warburg added.
