At least 24 people were shot to death and seven others wounded in an assault that took place in a rehabilitation centre in the Central Mexican city of Irapuato, Secretary of Municipal Citizen Security Pedro Zavala affirmed.
Police in the north-central state of Guanajuato said the attack happened in the city of Irapuato. Three of the seven injured were reported in serious condition.
The attack befell when an armed group entered the establishment and fired shots at the people inside. Following the occurrence, the attackers have escaped the scene and the National Guard, the Municipal Police and agents of the Attorney General of Guanajuato are currently working the area.
