The Japanese Health Ministry said on Thursday the country documented nearly 185,000 new COVID-19 cases over the previous day, confirming a continuous expansion of the outbreak that rebounded in early October.
The health situation remained the worst among the elderly population, as Japan became the country that registers the highest number of daily cases worldwide. More than 90% of the Japanese population has received a COVID-19 booster vaccine dose.
