Dr. Margaret Harris, the spokeswoman for the World Health Organization (WHO), confirmed on Friday the agency’s team tasked with the investigation of the origins and spreading of the coronavirus has departed for China.
Harris said the researchers “are in the air right now” and expected to arrive in the city of Wuhan later in the day.
The WHO agreed to send a team to examine the roots of the coronavirus after the United States accused China of allowing the disease to spread and decided to withdraw from the agency.
