Tunisia-Ariana adds 175 new cases of COVID-19 to its tally

The governorate of Ariana recorded, in the last 3 days of October 16-18, 175 new confirmed cases of coronavirus infections, the highest tally since the outbreak of the pandemic, bringing the infection toll to 1,621 including 1,552 local and 69 imported, according to the latest update by the regional health directorate.

The number of deaths from the virus in the region has climbed to 41 deaths including 36 registered after the borders reopened at the end of the last month of June, while the October saw the highest rate deaths from the virus with the registration of 20 deaths.

Infections by the virus are distributed in the governorate of Ariana, between 870 women and 751 men. The same report states that the number of infections among men (382) exceeded for the first time, during the month of October, that recorded among women 342.

On the other hand, 1,212 complete recoveries of the virus have been recorded while the number of patients admitted to hospitals has stabilized 4 cases, all undergoing medical follow-up.
