Tunisia-Vaccination will not be enough to fight virus in Tunisia, WHO says

The representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Tunisia, Yves Souteyrand, announced that vaccination against the coronavirus will be simply part of the solution and will not be sufficient on its own to fight the pandemic in Tunisia.

Souteyrand emphasised, on the sidelines of a meeting of the Health Committee at Parliament’s seat, that Tunisia’s betting on Coronavirus vaccinations to fight this scourge will not be enough.

For him, Tunisia needs to act more to increase the preventive aspect, he pointed out that Tunisia is in the process of obtaining quantities of vaccines on a progressive basis, which negatively affects the rhythm of the vaccination campaign and the number of vaccinated.

Souteyrand called for the necessity for Tunisia to move further towards tighter control of the extent of commitment to the application of all health protocol procedures for each sector.

He likewise called for more support for awareness-raising campaigns and urging citizens to adhere to preventive measures, particularly as Tunisia is experiencing a dangerous derailment in this regard, according to him.
