He pointed out that that the scientific committee has frequently called for a ban on gatherings organized by political parties and no has not hesitated to recommend general or targeted lockdown to the government in an attempt to control the pandemic. He added that the decisions of the government were always below expectations and that the Kasbah exerted pressure to substitute some members of the scientific commission, whose orientations do not match those of the government.
“Following stress from Kasbah, until the eve of Eid, we eventually decided to open vaccination centres. We have coordinated with the regional directors to decide which centres can be opened. The former Minister of Health also declared that the ministry has arranged contracts for the purchase of 16.6 million doses of the various Covid vaccines, of which 9.1 million in the form of direct purchases, 3.5 million and 4.3 million respectively within the framework of the programs of the African Union and COVAX. “The ministry had been operating on the opening of 139 vaccination centres and the organization of mobile campaigns from July 22,” he said.
