China introduces lockdown in Lanzhou over COVID

China has imposed a lockdown on Lanzhou, a northwestern city of four million residents, on Tuesday in an attempt to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

All residents were instructed to leave their homes only in case of an emergency, after China registered 29 new domestic infections. “All types of residential communities are to implement closed management,” the local authorities said on the matter.
