AFCON 2024: scorer against Mali, Diakité sends Ivory Coast to semi-finals (videos)

At the end of the big games of the quarter-finals and the derby between Ivorian and Malian neighbours, played this Saturday early evening at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké stadium (40,000 seats), Mali was defeated by Ivory Coast (1-2), which validated its ticket for the semi-finals, where it will meet DR Congo in the semi-final, Wednesday, February 7 at 9:00 p.m.

The three goals of the game were scored by Nene Dorgeles (71′ – watch video) then the equalizer for the locals at the last minute through Simon Adingra (89′ – watch video) and in the last minute of supplementary time, Oumar Diakité ( 120’+2) offered qualification to the hosts, in a very crazy scenario.

Qualified through the small door in the 8th round of the African Cup of Nations, Ivory Coast will seek its dream after its accomplishment by eliminating Senegal, the reigning African champion. Led by the new interim coach, Emerse Faé, the Elephants succeeded in Bouaké in front of a public who met with the sole ambition of qualifying for the last four.
