AFCON-Namibia beats Tunisia 1-0

This Tuesday, January 16 at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly stadium in Korhogo, Tunisia was defeated by Namibia (1-0) after striker Hotto crucified the Tunisians at the end of the match (88′).
After two very moderate performances against Mauritania and Cape Verde, the Eagles of Carthage poorly negotiated a seeded status to defend by failing to combine the result with the manner, confronting a team from Namibia ranked 116th FIFA, which is only playing the 4th AFCON in their history.

With this loss, the Tunisians no longer found the solid arguments to win and persuade and thus did not confirm taking an entry option for a place in the second round as well as sending a message to their next two rivals, South Africa and Mali.

As Jalal Kadri noted, at a press conference, that his players have reached their best form and Tunisia will have its baptism of fire in this AFCON 2024. Certainly, we feared this performance and this poor performance, particularly with two big names namely Mali and South Africa and of course, after the surprises of this first day which saw Egypt, Ghana, and Nigeria being hooked.

With this flashy result, the thumb of this group E would like to be the Comoros of this edition. But the question that plagues the minds of African football fans is: are the Carthage Eagles capable of hanging on and beating other opponents? We’ll see …
