A woman went to a South American bank in the Bangu district of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, last week with her uncle’s body to receive a loan estimated at 17,000 reais, or around €3,000, in her name.
Bank workers, sceptical about the situation, contacted security forces.
Once there, the latter confirmed the death of the 68-year-old man and apprehended his niece, as reported by local media.
