The municipal council of Brussels, capital of Belgium, unanimously adopted a proposal to prohibit public purchases of products produced in Israeli settlements located in the occupied Palestinian territories.
This decision, suggested by Councilor Benoit Hellings, commits the municipality to ensuring that its acquisitions do not benefit companies operating in conditions that violate international law, human rights or environmental law.
