Covid-19: France records new all-time high of nearly 19,000 cases in 24 hours

French health officials announced on Wednesday that 18,746 people tested positive for coronavirus, making it the largest single-day increase since the pandemic took hold. The total number of cases now reached 653,509.

Over the past 24 hours, 80 people have died in hospitals, with the total COVID-19 death toll now reaching 32,445.
