German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock insisted on Tuesday during a visit to Cairo that her country and Egypt agreed that the West Bank and the Gaza Strip belong to the Palestinian people.
Speaking to the media, Baerbock said that an upgraded Palestinian National Authority (PA) must participate in governing those territories. Additionally, she reaffirmed Berlin’s commitment to seeking a diplomatic solution for the conflict between Israel and Hamas and providing aid to Palestinian civilians.
