President of the Independent Higher Authority for Elections (ISIE) Farouk Bouasker revealed, in a press conference held this morning, that the 2037 centres and 3675 polling stations opened their doors at 8 a.m. without delay.
All members of the ISIE regional offices, whose number is assessed at 15,321, were present to guarantee the success of the vote.
Bouasker added that 1,558 candidates are partaking in the electoral race, 10.3% of whom are women.
H noted that 749 electoral constituencies are impacted by the second round of local elections.
In the same context, he recalled that 4,181,871 citizens were called to the polls this Sunday.
